Golden Globes 2019: Lady Gaga’s ‘Shallow’ wins Best Original Song
Lady secured a victory at the 2019 Golden Globes when her track ‘Shallow’ was named Best Original Song.
Gaga, who co-wrote the song alongside Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando and Andrew Wyatt, also co-produced it with Benjamin Rice.
“[Bradley Cooper] took our heartfelt honest tune and gave it emotional resonance we could have only dreamed of,” Mark Ronson said during the acceptance speech.
Then, turning to Gaga, Ronson said: “You’re the one who led us into the deep waters and made the song what it is.”
The occasion saw both Taylor Swift and Idris Elba present the award and, despite missing out on Best Actress for her role in A Star Is Born, Gaga’s work on the film was still recognised in the victory.
‘Shallow’ managed to edge out stiff competition in the shape of Kendrick Lamar for his Black Panther track ‘All the Stars’ as well as the great Dolly Parton who contributed to Dumplin’ with her song ‘Girl in the Movies’.
