Glastonbury 2025: Festival announces ticket price increase

Glastonbury Festival have announced the details of the sale of tickets to the 2025 event. With the battle for the golden tickets anticipated to be as fierce as ever, information regarding the sale is crucial to form a good action plan ahead of time.

The team behind Glastonbury have confirmed that 2025 tickets will initially go on sale on Thursday, 14th November at 6pm GMT for coach and ticket packages, and then standard tickets will become available on on Sunday, 17th November at 9am GMT.

As in recent years, anyone trying for a ticket will need to be registered first. Registration is already open, therefore, those who are looking to secure tickets need to make sure any details are filled in and correct. Furthermore, when it comes to buying tickets, a unique registration code will be needed for anyone who makes it through to the purchase page, as well as the codes of any friends they are planning to buy tickets for. Having this information organised and ready is essential to be in with any kind of chance of securing the sought after tickets. Registration will close at 5pm GMT on Monday, 11th November.

While the capacity of Glastonbury is a staggering crowd of 200,000 people attending each year, almost 2.5million people try for the tickets on an annual basis, which means there are over ten people scrambling for each ticket. Notably, the same rules apply to the 2025 tickets as they did with recent years and a group can buy a maximum of six tickets in this original sale.

The festival have confirmed an increase in price for the 2025 event. The cost of entry also rose in 2024. Now £373.50 along with a £5 booking fee. A £75 deposit will have to be paid in November, with the rest payable on the first week of April 2025. In 2024, a ticket cost £355, so there has been a £18.50 rise.

However, the 2025 edition feels set to be more sought after than previous years as there will be no festival in 2026. The following year will be a fallow year used to heal the festival grounds and recuperate Worthy Farm.

Who will headline Glastonbury 2025?

Last year’s festival was headlined by Dua Lipa, Coldplay and SZA, which represented a pop-heavy line-up and lack of genre diversity amongst the biggest names at Worthy Farm. At this stage, the line-up for 2025 hasn’t been confirmed, but there have been major rumours and mass conversations about who it could be.

When the Oasis reunion was announced, many believed that Noel and Liam Gallagher would take to the Pyramid Stag, but this has been put to bed now.

Taylor Swift, Eminem, Rihanna, and Madonna are among the names routinely rumoured to play in Somerset. Swift is now the only artist from the cancelled 2020 edition to not come back and take up her headline slot since.

Other names being thrown around for the top billing are Olivia Rodrigo, The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Harry Styles and more.

For the 2024 event, Glastonbury waited until March to reveal the headliners for the event. By that same logic, the rumour mill will be in overdrive for another five months before all is finally revealed.
