Glastonbury 2025: Festival announces introduction of ticket queue
Ahead of tickets going on sale for next year’s Glastonbury Festival, the Somerset event has announced a shake-up to the ticketing process by introducing a queue.
In previous years, those who were hopeful of attempting to buy tickets would essentially enter a battle of perseverance and regularly refresh their devices for as long as possible until they were successful. However, for the event in 2025, this has changed.
In an update listed on their website on November 5th, the festival revealed: “The booking process itself for 2025 will be the same as in previous years, however the way in which you join the booking process is changing.”
Glastonbury continued: “Rather than refreshing the holding page to attempt to access the booking page, this year, when the ticket sale begins (at 6pm or 9am respectively) everyone who is already on the glastonbury.seetickets.com page will randomly be assigned a place in a queue to access the booking process.”
For this reason, hopeful attendees must be logged onto the necessary page before tickets go on sale with the festival stating, “Anyone who logs on once the sale has started will automatically be added to the back of the queue, so it’s important to make sure you are online ready at least a few minutes before the sale opens.”
Once they enter the queue, prospective ticket buyers are greeted by a progress bar that informs them of how long they have left to wait.
Importantly, Glastonbury Festival also instructed those hoping to snag tickets to change from their typical methods of acquiring admittance to the event, stating, “Please do not refresh this page or use multiple devices or tabs or you may lose your place in the queue.”
When do Glastonbury tickets go on sale?
Last month, Glastonbury confirmed that 2025 tickets will initially go on sale on Thursday, 14th November at 6pm GMT for coach and ticket packages, and then standard tickets will become available on on Sunday, 17th November at 9am GMT.
Before entering the queues to purchase tickets, possible Glastonbury attendees will have to sign-up and register before 5pm GMT on November 11th. Each year, around 2.5 million people register for tickets, therefore, there will be a huge scramble for the 200,000 available tickets.
How expensive are Glastonbury tickets?
According to Glastonbury, “Tickets will cost £373.50 + £5 booking fee, of which a £75 deposit (plus coach fare if booking a Ticket + Coach travel option) is payable when booking in November, with the balance payable in the first week of April 2025.”
Notably, this is an increase of £18.50 from the price of tickets of the 2024 event, making next year’s festival the most expensive in Glastonbury history.
Who is playing Glastonbury in 2025?
At this stage, no acts have been confirmed to perform at Glastonbury in 2025. This year, the Somerset festival waited until March to unveil its full line-up which was headlined by Coldplay, SZA and Dua Lipa.
Rumoured headliners for next year include Eminem, Rihanna, Sam Fender, Olivia Rodrigo, and Fred Again, but no artist has been officially revealed.
