Glastonbury Festival 2019 are adding yet more new surprises to this year’s event with the latest reveal.
Having already announced plans to build a new 60-metre Victorian seaside pier on the festival site, Glastonbury have detailed a new “hidden gem-micro venue” to be included.
“New micro venue No Average Groove will feature all genres of music and styles,” said Glastonbury in a statement.
“There will be nothing average about this small stage, the new hidden gem of Silver Hayes,” they added. “So get your dancing shoes on and groove to the tunes from the hottest underground dance music scene.”
In other Glastonbury related news, co-organiser Michael Eavis has dropped a major hint that he’s lining up Paul McCartney for the 2020 event.
Still readying the preparation for this year’s festival which will see the likes of Stormzy, The Cure and The Killers all headline, Eavis already has an eye on the following year.
In what will be the 50th anniversary of Glastonbury Festival, Eavis revealed that he has already held preliminary talks with former Beatle McCartney about bringing him back to headline the Pyramid Stage.
“Paul’s on good form at the moment,” Eavis said in an interview with BBC Somerset. [He’s coming here] hopefully for the 50th. Don’t make a big thing of it though, will you?”
