George Lynch accusses Don Dokken of stealing songs, including Judas Priest deep cut

Dokken and Lynch Mob guitarist George Lynch has lashed out at Don Dokken, accusing him of stealing songs to pretend they were his own, including a Judas Priest deep-cut.

During a new episode of The SDR Show, Lynch reflected on his early encounters with Dokken, who is best known as the lead singer and founder of glam metal band Dokken.

Lynch recalled playing in Los Angeles, alongside acts like Van Halen, when he first came across Don’s earlier band, Airborn.

He reminisced, “I remember we played a gig at the Starwood… and Don’s band, Airborn, was up there on stage and they were playing what sounded exactly like one of our songs… called ‘Night Boys,’ and he was saying it was his song, so he plagiarized it. And we were, like, ‘What the [fuck]?”

Unfortunately, alleged Lynch, this wasn’t a one-off occasion: “He also played a very deep track, a Judas Priest song, and announced to the audience it was his song… the balls on this guy are just crazy.” Lynch didn’t specify which Judas Priest song he was referring to.

Lynch, who often makes controversial remarks about his bandmate in the press, continued, “I always say Don has the same exact personality traits and character as [Donald] Trump, except Trump’s a better singer.”

Despite these comments, as late as December 2025, further musical collaborations between the pair seemed to be on the cards, with Don telling Ultimate Classic Rock that he had spoken to Lynch about a potential EP.

Lynch commented on their peculiar relationship in the new interview, sharing, “It really comes down to our character and what’s important. I grew up a certain way. I believe a certain thing. He has a different belief system… The way he conducts himself has benefited me, my family, and given me a career.”

However, the pair, who have disputed previously through a lawsuit about nomenclature, don’t always see eye-to-eye. Lynch added that the way Don conducts himself is “also something I abhor. I could not behave in that way. I could not steal and cheat and lie. So it’s a weird push-pull dynamic.”
