Gem Archer provides update on Oasis’ future: “Anything could happen”

Oasis guitarist Gem Archer has reflected on their triumphant 2025 reunion and also looked ahead to what the future may hold.

Archer joined Oasis in 1999 following the departure of Bonehead, who he played alongside in the Oasis Live ’25 tour, and remained part of the group until their break-up in 2009.

Since Oasis’ split, Archer was first a lieutenant of Liam Gallagher in Beady Eye before joining Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.

Now, in a new interview with Guitar World, Archer said that he stills needs “time to decompress” after the historic reunion concluded in Brazil on November 23rd.

He also shared that he doesn’t know “anything about what’s coming up”, before describing the comedown from the tour as “the weirdest thing”, adding, “It’s all a blur. We’ve all said that we won’t know what this was ‘till next year. When all the wheels stop spinning, you know, there’s just so much to take on board. It really was a bit of a whirlwind.”

Archer continued, “Anything could happen, which could include nothing. But this was quite a thing… if stuff was happening, I think I might already know about it, if you know what I mean? It’s not something you just flick on.”

He then gave fans hope by cryptically adding, “But Noel has said, ‘No rest for the immensely talented,’ so take that how you want.”

The future of Oasis beyond their recent tour is yet to be revealed, and earlier this week, Liam took to X to claim it wouldn’t be until 2027 that fans would see them next. However, only a week prior, he had also hinted that a European tour was on the cards.

After the tour came to an end, Oasis issued the following celebratory statement, which suggested their story is not yet over, “From Gallagher Hill to the River Plate, from Croke Park on the banks of the Royal Canal to the City of Angels, the love, joy, tears and euphoria will never be forgotten. There will now be a pause for a period of reflection.”
