Geese announce third album ‘Getting Killed’ with new single ‘Taxes’

New York-based band Geese, fronted by virtuoso singer Cameron Winter, have announced their third album, Getting Killed, and released their first single, ‘Taxes’.

The follow-up to their critically acclaimed 2023 album, 3D Country, will be released on September 26th via Partisan Records. It is promised to “obliterate any expectations the band has set with their discography to date.”

The press release also shares that Getting Killed will “examine the wreckage of blowing up those ideas and picking up the pieces to form their own bold and exacting vision.”

It continues, ‘Getting Killed balances a disarming new tenderness with an intensified anger, with each member of the band wielding an earned, unshakeable confidence and a hearty disdain of conventional music structures.”

It was recorded alongside Kenny Beats, who has worked with Dominic Fike, Omar Apollo, and Denzel Curry. After a month of recording in Beats’ LA studio, Geese reportedly emerged with “a chaotic comedy of epic proportions.”

In a four-star review of his solo endeavour, Heavy Metal, Far Out praised Winter, writing: “Winter is seemingly always out to surprise, and while the album title might suggest that there’s going to be a lot of crunching riffs and Satanic worship, the madness is presented in a far more raw and emotionally arresting fashion, with deft arrangements shining underneath his captivating and often histrionic performance.”

Their new single, ‘Taxes’, uses a spritely piano refrain to juxtapose the topical and tragic lyrics, such as ‘If you want me to pay my taxes / You’d better come over with a crucifix / You’re gonna have to nail me down.’

Geese have also announced their 2025 North American ‘Getting Killed’ tour, which will begin on October 10th and end in New York on November 21st.
