Fred Again shares new single ‘You’re a Star’ with Amyl and the Sniffers

Fred Again and Amyl and the Sniffers have teamed up to release the new single, ‘You’re a Star’.

The release comes after a surprise guest appearance by the punk frontwoman Amy Taylor at one of Fred’s shows in Sheffield, the night before the band played Leeds Festival this summer.

At that show, the pair debuted a full remix of the track ‘Big Dreams’, from their latest album, Cartoon Darkness. The reworked version forms part of Fred Again’s ongoing USB project. He had even updated the project live on stream just a day before the Sheffield show.

Speaking with Rolling Stone Australia, Taylor spoke highly of the British DJ: “It’s really flattering, because I feel like — and I told him this too — Charlie in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. He’s Willy Wonka, and somehow I got a golden ticket to be a part of his world.”

She continued, “He’s one of the best DJs in the world, and he’s such a nice dude, really friendly and enthusiastic, and the song is a massive banger. I love the remix, and it’s taken on a whole new feeling. It was really, really fun to be able to work with him.”

Fred’s USB album originally began in 2022. The first iteration featured tracks like ‘Baby Again’, ‘Rumble’ alongside Skrillex & Flowdan, ‘Jungle’, ‘leavemealone’ with Baby Keem and ‘stayinit’ with Lil Yachty. It also featured impressive remixes from Nia Archives, HAAi and Rico Nasty, before the first collection was released on vinyl as USB001 in 2024.

Fred’s first USB002 show takes place at Glasgow’s SECC on October 3rd. There, Fred will be joined by ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U and HAAi.
