Former Black Midi bassist announces debut album from My New Band Believe and shares first single
Former Black Midi bassist Cameron Picton has revealed the first single from his latest outfit, My New Band Believe.
The first single, ‘Numerology’, arrived from the band on February 17th, marking the first taste of their frenetic and energy-loaded sound.
The track presents a truly riotous, raucous, and sometimes chaotic collection of sonics, bridging the unique gap between indie experimentation and party anthem.
However, the single is set to stand separately from My New Band Believe’s self-titled debut album, which is slated to be released on April 10th this year.
Largely following a similar musical description to the single, the debut promises to be “a massive and hallucinatory record,” according to its press release.
It adds: “It is a collection of music that swerves through wildly different emotional and thematic registers, all the while unraveling an endlessly compelling thread of dream logic.”
The eight-track album, which features song titles such as ‘In the Blink of an Eye’, ‘Opposite Teacher’, and ‘One Night’, marks the first new sonic foray from Picton since his former group, Black Midi, disbanded in 2024.
The self-titled debut album from My New Band Believe is set to be released on April 10th, 2026, via Rough Trade Records.
