Fontaines DC share new video for ‘Desire’

Fontaines DC have shared a new behind-the-scenes video for ‘Desire’.

Taken from their most recent album Romance, which was released to massive critical acclaim last year, the video for ‘Desire’ depicts the Irish rock band throughout their life on the road over the course of their most recent tour, performing on stage and being followed by camera operators clad in their trademark green balaclavas.

It comes as the conclusion of a seismic year for the band, lead by frontman Grian Chattan, as they witnessed their stardom rocket to new levels upon the release of Romance as their fourth studio album, inlcuding huge shows at Finsbury Park and Wythenshawe Park.

Their most recent efforts saw them pick up the Brit Award for ‘International Group of the Year’ back at the beginning of March, from which they have springboarded into a huge tour, and often used their status to support many vital causes, including support of Palestine.

Fontaines DC finished out their most recent run of shows with a headline slot at the Boucher Road Playing Fields in Belfast over the weekend, during which they were joined by fellow Irishmen Kneecap on the bill.

It represents the pinnacle of a number of huge UK shows the band have played over the course of this summer, including at Wythenshawe Park in Manchester and Finsbury Park in London, as well as various international festival appearances, including at Rock en Seine in France and Primavera Sound in Spain.

With their gig at the Boucher Road Playing Fields in Belfast being their last live appearance of 2025, Fontaines DC posted an emotional tribute to social media following the show, displaying all the band members embracing each other, along with the simple caption: “Thank you.”
