Fka Twigs has release her first new material in four years with her latest single ‘Cellophane’.
“Throughout my life I’ve practiced my way to being the best I could be,” Twigs wrote on social media about the release. “It didn’t work this time. I had to tear down every process I’d ever relied on. Go deeper. Rebuild. Start again.”
Twigs’ last record came in the shape of M3LL155X, an album which was released way back in 2015. Since then, Twigs has appeared in a Spike Jonze directed advert and starred in dance film Soundtrack 7 which was created, performed and filmed on-site across seven days at Manchester International Festival.
The news comes just days after the singer announce a string of tour dates that will also see her play New York City, Sydney and Hobart in Australia before returning to Europe to play Berlin, Paris, Barcelona and London.

It was only this time last year that FKA Twigs revealed that doctors found six fibroid tumours in her uterus which were removed in December.
“The nurse said that the weight and size was like being 6 months pregnant,” twigs wrote on Instagram. “I tried to be brave but it was excruciating at times and to be honest I started to doubt if my body would ever feel the same again,” she added.
Having seemingly physically recovered from the surgery, Twigs posted a video of herself dancing around a pole and continued: “I felt like my strong self again for the first time in a while and it was magical,” she wrote before saying that “I felt really alone and my confidence as a woman was knocked.”
“Thank you precious body for healing, thank you for reminding me to be kind to myself, you are a wonderful thing, now go create and be other once again.”
“I know that a lot of women suffer from fibroid tumours and I just wanted to say after my experience that you are amazing warriors and that you are not alone. You can get through this.”
