Hallelujah, the first taste of 2016’s Field Day to whet our appetites and forget the winter is here. The 10th anniversary year for East London’s premiere festival was always going to be a good one and judging by the first wave of acts to be announced we won’t be disappointed.
The line-up features the mercurial PJ Harvey, the Mercury Music Prize nominee SOAK, Beach House, prodigy Declan McKenna, Deerhunter, GOAT (!), Skepta and Four Tet amongst a host of other amazing acts. If this is the first announcement we are expecting massive things for the forthcoming fest.
Taking part on the 11th and 12th of June the festival is growing old disgracefully in all the best ways. Happy 10th!
Tom Baker (founder) had this to say about the event.
“10 years… amazing. Can’t believe how the time has flown. A mind bending travel in time and so much great music, it’s hard to pin point a favourite moment as there are just so many… I’m thrilled that this year the iconic PJ Harvey, someone I’ve been a huge fan for many years, will come and headline the Sunday. Saturday brings us another fantastic diverse mix of incredible music from Four Tet to Skepta, Floating Points who’s playing Live, to Orchestra Baobab, Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band and of course loads more…”
