Fever333 remix Nova Twins track 'Undertaker'

Nova Twins, the fantastic London punk duo, have paired up with fellow 333 Wreckords Crew artists Fever333 to remix their song ‘Undertaker’.

The remix trades in the Twins’ fuzzy guitar sound for trap beats without sacrificing any of the aggression or DIY aesthetic of the original. The song was already in a scuzzed-out headspace before Fever333 singer Jason Aalon Butler stepped in to add his contribution — and he adds more layers of crunk debauchery to the party.

“We love what Fever 333 did with this ‘Undertaker’ remix,” the duo state on the remix’s press release. “It’s one of our favourite tracks to play live and we thought that they would be perfect to rework it! Jason brought an entirely new energy to the table with his vocal. We hope that when venues open up again, we can all play it together on stage! That would be epic.”

“I think one of the greatest things about this label collective is that it is run by artists for artists,” Butler added. “Which means every move we make is with artistry in mind. With that said – as label head I had the privilege of onboarding the inimitable Nova Twins to 333 Wrecks last year and as an artist myself I had the honour of working on a remix with them this year. Pretty win-win scenario if you ask me. So much love and respect for these queens and I can’t wait for y’all to hear this one.”

Just because this is a remix, that doesn’t mean any of the rough edges of the original are smoothed out. In fact, it sounds like there’s even more distortion here than on the original, which is strange since the original is fully encased in fuzz.

Nova Twins, guitarist Amy Love, and bassist Georgia South have been creating raw punk rock for years now, stringing along famous fans like Wolf Alice and Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello. From their self titled 2016 EP all the way up their recent debut LP Who Are The Girls, there’s never been a wasted breath or missed opportunity, and although the ‘Undertaker’ remix feels more like a solid dose of brand synergy than a significant artistic leap forward, it’s always great to hear new releases from the pair.
