Father John Misty has shared some behind-the-scenes footage of the creative process behind his newest record God’s Favorite Customer which came out last week. Aptly title ‘The Making of God’s Favorite Customer’ it sees Pappa John crooning away and employing his natural dancing technique… with a skull.
In the video (directed by Grant James) we see Tillman belting out the opening track ‘Hangout at the Gallows.’ It continues as he fiddles around with the title track ‘God’s Favorite Customer’, with a cameo from Weyes Blood, he then takes on ‘Disappointing Diamonds Are the Rarest of Them All,’ as well as ‘Mr. Tillman.’
It’s not the first time FJM has added on a sneak peak film of the creative process, after releasing Pure Comedy he released a 25 minute video to show off the work behind the record. But as good as that one was, it frankly didn’t involve him dancing with a skull, so, y’know, this one’s infinitely better.
