Fat White Family release new single, ‘Religion For One’

Following the release of their critically acclaimed 2019 record, Serf’s Up!, Fat White Family are back with their new single, ‘Religion For One’.

The band, formed in 2011, have released three albums to date, with their debut, Champagne Holocaust, turning ten earlier this year. Known for their chaotic live shows, Fat White Family are one of the most simultaneously beloved and notorious bands in the current British musical landscape.

While their new track teases a potential fourth album, the band have not yet released any official information regarding another record. ‘Religion For One’ is the band’s first new release in four years and comes after a string of live shows where they played a mixture of new material and their classic hits.

The song comes with a video directed by Michael William West, which sees several members of the band pretending they’re artists in a bygone era of Paris. Shot in dreamy black-and-white, it is just one of multiple impressive music videos delivered by Fat White Family.

Discussing the new track, the band released a statement which reads: “Abject narcissism is our only real code of conduct anymore. Everything is thinly veiled self-interest. The post-modern post social media condition constitutes a complete death of outwardness.”

They added, “We are smothered by the infinite present. We have swapped art for the history of art. The game is up. The party’s over…NO SURRENDER!”
