With a brand new album on the way, it’s good to hear some new music from the ever enigmatic Ezra Furman. The latest track to be taken from Transangelic Exodus is the weird and wonderful ‘Suck The blood From My Wound’.
The album is out on February 9th via Bella Union and with this latest track added to previous offerings ‘Driving Down To LA’ and ‘Love You So Bad’ we can be sure this new LP is going to be something a little different.
‘Suck The Blood From My Wound’ is a continuation of the new sound which seems to litter the record. A move-on from previous record Perpetual Motion People this new LP adds a little more 80’s artistic direction, often moving in to synths and other samples Ezra shows he’s not a one-trick-pony – if you ever thought him it.
Furman said: “It’s a song with enough situational detail and imagery that it could be adapted into a film or a novel. Not that it necessarily should be. It started with me writing a whole album about me and my illegal transangelic hospital-escapee partner running from a hostile government. All of my deepest concerns as an artist whirling into a bizarre dream of perpetual narrow escape.”
