Evan Rachel Wood says she “still gets followed by cars” and “phishing attempts” following Marilyn Manson allegations
Actor Evan Rachel Wood has claimed she “still gets followed by cars” after making sexual abuse allegations against her ex-partner, Marilyn Manson.
Wood initially accused Manson, real name Brian Warner, of sexual abuse and grooming her as a teenager in an Instagram post in 2021. Due to the statute of limitations, Wood was unable to press charges.
Following Wood’s allegations, more women came forward with sexual abuse allegations about Warner, including Game of Thrones actor Esmé Bianco.
Warner, who denied all of the allegations and any wrongdoing, subsequently launched a lawsuit against Wood in 2022, accusing the actor of fabricating the claims and encouraging others to do the same.
Warner later dropped the lawsuit against Wood after a judge threw out a significant portion of the case. The musician was also ordered to pay Wood’s $327,000 legal fees.
Now, in a new interview with The Times, Wood alleged that Warner “controlled when I slept, what I wore and when I ate. He would have his assistants follow me around and send him photos of what I was doing so he knew where I was”.
She also alleged, “His circle, his sphere, it operated very much like a cult,” before adding, “You’re up against an entire system — which makes it twice as hard to leave and twice as scary to speak out.”
Wood continued, “There’s a lot of intimidation that comes with that — trying to keep you quiet or to blackmail you, to ruin your reputation, to hack into your electronics.”
While Wood left Warner in 2011, 15 years ago, she then claimed, “I still get followed by cars. I still have phishing attempts on my computer. I still have numbers calling me over and over again.”
When Wood initially went public with her claims in 2021, Warner refuted the allegations, writing, “My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners. Regardless of how — and why — others are now choosing to misrepresent the past, that is the truth.”
In 2025, prosecutors in California dropped an investigation into Warner, following a series of sexual assault and domestic violence allegations, due to the statute of limitations and insufficient evidence.
Warner, who was never charged, strongly denied the accusations through his legal team, labelling the claims as “falsehoods”.
