Eric Clapton announces tribute show for Cream bandmate Ginger Baker
It has been announced that Eric Clapton will pay tribute to his former bandmate in Cream and an iconic drummer Ginger Baker who passed away earlier this year.
The legendary guitarist has revealed that the event will take place at London’s Hammersmith Apollo on February 17th 2020 with tickets going on sale this Friday 29th November. Proceeds of the benefit will go to Leonard Cheshire a charity that is close to the Baker family.
As of yet, there is only one act announced for the show, Clapton himself, but with that announcement alone likely to seel out tickets considering his reduced touring schedule, don’t expect these tickets to hang around.
As part of Cream, the legendary band he shared with Jack Bruce and Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker carved out his own path as one of the greatest drummers the world has ever known and it only feels right that the best way to celebrate that crazy life is with just one more gig.
