Emmy Awards 2024: The complete list of nominations
In a ceremony on July 17th, previous Emmy Awards winners Tony Hale and Sheryl Lee Ralph revealed the full list of nominees for the upcoming 76th edition of the prestigious ceremony, celebrating the best television of the last 12 months.
Notably, HBO’s The Bear is the stand-out programme with a whopping 23 nominations in total, surpassing the previous record for a comedy series. Previously, 30 Rock held this achievement for 15 years, but now, it has changed hands after once seeming insurmountable. However, Game of Thrones‘ all-time high of 32 nominations still remains in-tact.
Meanwhile, Selena Gomez, the star of the hit Disney+ show Only Murders In The Building, has also etched her name into the history books.
While she’s been nominated for her acting capabilities in the ‘Actress in a Comedy Series’ category for the first time, Gomez also serves as an executive producer on the show, which has been nominated for ‘Comedy Series’ for the third consecutive year, meaning she is now the most-nominated Latina producer in Emmys history.
If Gomez is to win her first acting Emmy for ‘Actress in a Comedy Series’, she will need to be victorious against strong competition from Ayo Edebiri from The Bear, Loot’s Maya Rudolph, and Kristen Wiig, who is nominated for her performance in Palm Royale.
The Emmys are set to take place in Los Angeles at the Peacock Theater on September 15th and will be available to watch live on ABC. At this stage, no host has been announced.
