Elliot Page says reuniting with Christopher Nolan on ‘The Odyssey’ was “a joy” and “meant so much”
Elliot Page has opened up about working with Christopher Nolan again on The Odyssey, admitting that it was “a joy” and “meant so much”.
The actor was speaking at Comic-Con in New York over the weekend, while appearing on a panel for the film X-Men: Days of Future Past. However, when asked what it was like to work with Nolan again on The Odyssey, 15 years on from Inception – released before he came out as a transgender man – Page said the experience was extremely positive.
“I was so excited to be thought of for [The Odyssey] and to be asked to come back to work with him [Nolan],” Page confessed (per Variety), before adding, “I loved working with him on Inception and loved being a part of that movie. I was just completely jazzed and excited, and [I] basically went and met with Chris and talked about the part, then sat in a room and read the script. It was such a joy to come back.”
Page played the character of Ariadne in the mind-bending 2010 blockbuster opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, a decade before he revealed he was a transgender man in 2020. Referencing this, he noted: “To come back now, as you can imagine, being more comfortable in yourself makes these sorts of projects more enjoyable.”
Page’s role within The Odyssey has not yet been unveiled, but the movie, based on the epic Greek mythological poem by Homer, features an all-star ensemble cast. Matt Damon is set to play the central role of Odysseus, being joined by Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, and Jon Bernthal.
“To get to have a Chris Nolan experience again now meant so much to me selfishly,” Page added, with the movie already having gone on sale, and in some cases sold out, a year in advance of it being released in cinemas.
The Odyssey is set to hit the big screen on July 17th, 2026.
