Edgar Wright set to direct Hollywood Ghost Story ‘Stage 13’
Edgar Wright is set to direct the new Hollywood ghost story Stage 13.
The film will see Wright work alongside former Saturday Night Live cast member Simon Rich who wrote the film that was originally based on his own short story of the same name.
Stage 13 follows a silent film-era actress who has haunted the titular soundstage for decades. Her afterlife changes when she meets a struggling director, and the two find a way to work together.
The film sounds like a match made in heaven for Wright who made his name with the supernatural comedies Shaun of the Dead, The World’s End and Hot Fuzz which were all very British comedies but there are no end’s to the filmmaker’s talents so Stage 13 will undoubtedly be a brilliant watch.
It was previously announced that Wright has been named to direct Universal’sThe Chain, which involves a disturbing pyramid scheme involving kidnapping that sees parents becoming criminals.
Last Night in Soho, was also due to arrive in September courtesy of Wright, however, the highly anticipated psychological horror film was moved all the way to April 23rd, 2021, due to the pandemic.
