Ed Sheeran announces 26-date North American stadium tour
Ed Sheeran has confirmed details of a huge stadium tour across North America in 2026.
The singer-songwriter, who released his most recent album Play on September 12th, will play 26 shows across the United States and Canada, beginning in June and ending in November.
The run of dates will begin at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on June 13th, and will see him visit iconic stadiums, including the MetLife in New Jersey, Soldier Field in Chicago, Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, AT&T Stadium in Arlington, and the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
Sheeran was recently forced to clarify comments he made about moving to America, explaining that it was only going to be a temporary switch while he toured, which aligns with the announcement made on September 18th.
On Instagram Stories, Sheeran claimed the press had used his comments as part of a broader narrative regarding millionaires fleeing the UK for tax reasons.
He shared, “Way easier to clear up stuff on here so here’s me setting the record straight, coz there’s deffo a narrative press are trying to push that people wanna move out of the UK for some reason. I’m not moving, I’m going on tour with my family and relocating to the continent I’m touring on, don’t wanna commute from London to San Diego obvz.”
Meanwhile, during an appearance on the Scott Mills Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2 earlier this week, Sheeran revealed that he rejected the opportunity to perform in space, sharing, “I was offered to go to space a while ago you know. It terrifies me, I want to go to space when it’s like flying to France and 40,000 people have done it and you can just book it online. I don’t want to be a guinea pig for that, because it still is dangerous.”
Ahead of his North American tour next summer, the Brit Award-winner will play a small number of arena shows in the UK and Europe this winter, including the Co-op Live in Manchester on December 7th.
