Listen to the debut single 'It's You' from DMA's side project Big Time

DMA’s guitarist Johnny Took has shared the first song from his brand new side project Big Time, titled ‘It’s You’.

Big Time, comprised of the guitarist and his brother Matty who is also the vocalist in Sydney-based group Planet, arrives as the new project that initially concerned fans that this was spelling the end for DMA’s. However, Took was on hand to reassure fans this certainly isn’t the case.

The blissful retro-sounding guitar anthem is perfect for the summer months and sees Took divert slightly away from the electronic direction in which DMA’s have moved to with their new record The Glow which has been influenced by the likes of Primal Scream and The Chemical Brothers.

Taking to Twitter, he wrote: “For people asking if DMA’S are ramping it down because me and Matty are releasing music under BIG TIME chill hard – DMA’S are just getting started. Matty and I have been playing music together since we were kids and we just wanna give some of that love to ya. Peace.”

Big Time’s debut ‘It’s You’ was described in a press release by Took as being the tale of “two people who think they want each other, but whose relationship is kinda just fuelled by drugs and sex”.

DMA’s have recently decided to postpone the release of their third album The Glow til July from April 23rd due to the current ongoing pandemic, they have also had to postpone their headline dates in the UK which were to coincide with the album’s release until later in the year.
