Death Grips confirm they are working on new album
Death Grips have confirmed they are currently working on their long-awaited new album.
Taking to Instagram, the band shared a carousel of images taken from the recording process along with the update on their forthcoming LP.
They shared in the caption: “The Writing and recording of our next album is underway. We’re looking forward to the new Death Grips record.”
Notably, the post was only signed off by the band’s Stefan Burnett, better known as MC Ride, and Zach Hill. Andy Morin, who co-founded Death Grips alongside the pair in 2010, name was absent from the update.
Seemingly, Morin’s time with the band has come to an end, but there has yet to be any official confirmation that this is the case.
In February, a direct message from Moran’s Instagram account surfaced online regarding Death Grips. He privately shared of the band’s future in a message that later leaked: “Yeah it’s over, Stefan doesn’t want to do any more. But truthfully none of us can ever predict what will happen with the group”.
This led to Burnett and Hill issuing an update in April on the official Death Grips account on Instagram, telling their followers, “Despite rumour and hearsay, we remain active as Death Grips”. Again, this post was signed off solely by the pair.
Death Grips have not performed live since an appearance at Austin City Limits in 2023. Their last album, Year of the Snitch, was released in 2018.
