David Squires delves into… a ‘Star Wars’ spin-off set on Jeremy Clarkson’s farm

“Behold what I have created,” Jeremy Clarkson proclaims, “I am Moses”.

What he’s created is, in fact, a farm. But, deep within his rural programming, there are stark similarities to another franchise: Star Wars.

Given the rampant franchising of content on Amazon, it is perhaps only a matter of time before Jeff Bezos makes David Squires’ latest comic musing some sort of harrowing AI reality. Welcome to a world Far Out’s resident cartoonist has foreseen: Uncle Owen’s Farm.

With Star Wars instalments now a near-constant stream, is it all that difficult to envision? After all, Clarkson’s Farm has been harvesting record views for Amazon Prime with an average of 4.4m viewers for season four. And these days, the general approach seems to be ‘milk it to death’ in a ceaseless wave of enshitification for capital gains.

Nevertheless, Squires’ comic musings do actually make Uncle Owen’s Farm appear quite appealing. Expect lovely references to Didcot and relish in the parody strip below…
