David Harbour teases the ending of ‘Stranger Things’ season five
Actor David Harbour has teased the ending of the fifth and final season of the Netflix science fiction show Stranger Things, which will soon head into a production phase.
The series had been waiting to be made for some time but was delayed owing to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Now the unions have struck respective deals with the studios, Stranger Things season five can finally move ahead.
When appearing at the Motor City Comic Con, Harbour, who plays Jim Hopper in the programme, was asked about the potential for a sixth season despite Netflix already announcing the next series would be their last.
In answering the question, Harbour hinted at how season five will end, stating: “The beauty of it is there’s a real ending — things will end in a very real way.”
The actor also mentioned the upcoming Stranger Things play in London and how it came about from an episode in the main series before noting: “(It’s) one complete story, and it’s going to end at the final episode of Season 5.”
During his Happy Sad Confused podcast appearance, Harbour also discussed season five of Stranger Things and expressed his admiration for the Duffer Brothers. “They’re terrific, as per usual,” he said. “They continue to outdo themselves, these currently-on-strike writers called the Duffer Brothers.”
Harbour added, “It’s a hell of an undertaking, too. I mean, the set pieces and the things in the scripts that we saw are bigger than anything we’ve done in the past.”
Meanwhile, fellow Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown recently spoke of her excitement to take on new roles following the end of the series. “Stranger Things takes up a lot of time to film and it’s preventing me from creating stories that I’m passionate about. So I’m ready to say, ‘Thank you, and goodbye’,” she noted.
