Take a first look at David Fincher’s new Netflix film ‘Mank’

The first look at the acclaimed director’s David Fincher’s upcoming Netflix film Mank has been released — which you can view below.

It marks Fincher’s first release since 2014’s Gone Girl and sees him link up with Oscar-winning actor Gary Oldman who portrays Citizen Kane co-writer Herman Mankiewicz’ life. The film is set to be released on the streaming giant at an unknown date later in the year and is the first time that the director has made a film in black and white.

As well as seeing Oldman as Mankiewicz, Amanda Seyfried also portrays Marion Davies as well as Charles Dance taking on the moniker of William Randolph Hearst.

The film is somewhat of a passion project for Fincher with the screenplay being written by his father, Jack, and he has been trying to get his father’s story on the screen for over 20 years. It was originally planned to b his follow-up to 1997’s The Game before Fight Club sent his career on a different path.

The film also sees him reunite with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross who previously created an Oscar-winning soundtrack for their collaboration with Fincher on 2010s The Social Network.
