David Byrne’s hugely successful stage show, American Utopia, has been confirmed for a second run of broadway dates.
The first run of the show, which ended earlier this week (February 16), had enjoyed a string of 121 performances at Hudson Theatre on Broadway to critical praise.
Now though, Byrne has confirmed that the musical will return for a second run on September 18, 2020, and continue for 17 weeks through January 17, 2021. The second run of dates will again be held at the same Hudson Theatre venue.
“It’s become obvious to us in the band, the crew and the producer team that audiences want, dare I say need? To see this show,” Byrne said in a press release. “They’re not ready to have it disappear just yet. We feel the same way, we love doing this show. So, it’s thrilling to us that we can announce that we’ll be back in September. Tickets are on sale now.”
