Dave Grohl remembers the moment he jammed with Prince

In a newly launched Instagram account called ‘Dave’s True Stories’, Dave Grohl has shared how Prince once fulfilled his “rock ‘n’ roll fantasy” in 2011 by jamming with him and his band.

As we all continue to practice social distancing the need for entertainment is ever greater. Grohl, like many other artists, has taken to social media to try and provide a little light relief where possible.

Some artists have been sharing new music or old covers but Dave Grohl has been sharing some cracking stories from his time in the music industry with two of the biggest rock acts of the last 30 years.

Grohl posted the story recently on his new account which detailed his meeting with The Purple One and his band during a soundcheck at the LA Forum in 2011, as Prince completed a 21-date run at the venue.

He had turned down a performance with Prince, “because “I was fuuuuuuuuucking hammered” and there was “NO WAY I was going to step onto Prince’s stage in that state.”

“It was a proposition I had wished for my entire adult life,” Grohl wrote about the invitation to jam with Prince at a pre-show soundcheck. “But never in my wildest dreams imagined possible. Jam. With. Prince. Absolutely unfathomable.”
