Dave Grohl performs 'Everlong' from home on Jimmy Kimmel

Dave Grohl appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night as a surprise guest and the Foo Fighters man performed an acoustic rendition of ‘Everlong’ from the comfort of his own home.

Grohl’s appearance came during an interview with TJ Riley, a New York emergency trauma nurse from Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx, who is also an absolutely huge so Foo Fighters fan. Grohl surprised him by treating Riley to a stripped-back rendition of the band’s 1997 hit ‘Everlong’.

The performance was a gesture to thank Riley for his work during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Life Is Good organisation also provided every nurse in Riley’s department with a $10,000 and gift package. The segment was part of Kimmel’s #HealthCareHero series.

Grohl recently shared his own self-isolation playlist and noted: “In order to get through this difficult period (and I truly believe that we will get through this, in time). It is important to recognise the many stages of isolation and anxiety, and to pair them with appropriate musical accompaniment.”

The playlist features beauties such as The Beatles classic ‘Here Comes The Sun‘, ‘Our House’ by Madness, ‘Drunk Girls’ by LCD Soundsystem, ‘School’s Out’ by Alice Cooper as well as many more.
