D4vd’s Apple Music account hacked with fake ‘I Did It’ song
D4vd‘s Apple Music account was reportedly hacked to release the fake song, titled ‘I Did It’.
The singer, real name David Anthony Burke, has been charged with the first-degree murder of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, as well as charges for lewd acts with a child and for dismembering the victim’s body on April 20th, 2025.
Hernandez’s body was discovered in a Tesla vehicle registered under Burke’s name in a tow yard in Hollywood last year.
Burke, who denies all of the charges, was in court last week in Los Angeles for a preliminary hearing which will determine if the case will go to trial.
According to the BBC, the artwork for ‘I Did It’ was an image of an abandoned Tesla. The song has since been removed from Apple Music.
Per Fox News Los Angeles, ‘I Did It’ featured “an AI-synthesized version of Burke’s voice” and “the lyrics explicitly referenced the 14-year-old by name”.
Over the weekend, Ariana Grande and Katseye also reportedly had fake songs released on Apple Music after hackers allegedly got into their accounts.
Burke’s preliminary hearing has now entered its fifth day on July 27th, with a judge expected to make a decision imminently on whether it will head to a jury trial. He is currently being held without bail.
If found guilty, if the case proceeds to trial, Burke could face a life sentence in prison or even the death penalty.
During the first day of the preliminary hearing, prosecutors alleged that Burke stabbed Rivas Hernandez and subsequently dismembered her body with a chainsaw following several years of alleged sexual abuse.
It was claimed in court that she had threatened to speak about the alleged abuse, which had threatened his music career.
The court also later heard that 11 air fresheners were discovered in the Tesla when Rivas Hernandez’s remains were discovered.
The preliminary trial continues.
