Courting share new single ‘Emily G’
Courting have embraced engaging with their fanbase in the run-up to the release of their new single ‘Emily G’. Fans were sent on scavenger hunts where they had to follow coordinates to find posters with QR codes. Once these QR codes were scanned, fans could finally listen to the new single ‘Emily G.’
Today, the less scavenger hunt-inclined music lovers can listen to the new single from home. The song is a trippy, catchy number, adding to the hype surrounding the new New Last Name album.
The adventure surrounding the new single will continue throughout the album. The band is stepping things up and leaning into the concept, giving fans layers they can ignore or read into at their leisure.
“It’s a theatrical play within an album,” they said in a statement. “There’s a lot going on. It can be simply enjoyed as an album, but there are characters, acts, stage directions, etc. The listeners can decide on the narrative themselves, but we want them to get lost in it,” the band continued.
‘Emily G’ is incredibly upbeat, easy to move to, and something fans won’t struggle to get behind. Endorsing the concept even further, the track’s narrative serves as the end of a flashback.
“’Emily G’ is the centrepiece of the album, the 5th act of our play. She is a story found in a magazine and a real person. A tale of right place, wrong time. Something to dance to.”
