Country star Todd Snider arrested after allegedly being assaulted and cancelling tour

Country artist Todd Snider has cancelled his tour after reportedly being arrested at a hospital in Salt Lake City following an assault on him.

In a statement published on Snider’s Instagram on November 3rd, it was confirmed that his High, Lonesome and Then Some 2025 tour had been cancelled.

It claimed: “Ahead of Todd Snider’s show in Salt Lake City, Todd sustained severe injuries as the victim of a violent assault outside of his hotel. Todd will be unable to perform for an undetermined amount of time. We deeply apologize for the cancellation and any inconvenience it causes.”

The statement continued: “We appreciate your understanding as Todd receives needed medical treatment. We hope to have more information on new dates soon.”

Following the assault, Snider was taken to a local hospital. However, according to a Salt Lake City Police Department spokesperson he “initially refused to leave” the facility.

The spokesperson shared (via Rolling Stone), “Hospital staff discharged Mr. Snider who then left, however he returned sometime later and began making threats to assault staff members.”

Snider was later arrested and booked at Salt Lake County Jail for disorderly conduct, threat of violence, and trespassing. He has not yet been formally charged.

Snider, an Oregon native, was inducted into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame in 2021 at a ceremony in Portland. His most recent album, Crank It, We’re Doomed, arrived in 2023.

His tour was set to visit The Troubadour in West Hollywood, California, on November 4th and take him to Napa, Santa Cruz, Portland, Seattle, Spokane, and Missoula before concluding on November 16th in Bozeman, Montana.
