Corey Feldman hospitalised following medical emergency on flight
Corey Feldman has been hospitalised following a medical emergency on a flight in North America.
The former child star, who rose to prominence in the 1980s in films such as The Goonies, Gremlins and Stand By Me, was aboard a flight to Los Angeles when the incident occurred.
Per USA Today, Feldman was met by paramedics upon arriving at LAX, who transferred him to the hospital.
His spokesperson confirmed to the publication that Feldman was “resting” in the medical facility as he awaited his MRI results.
The day before his hospitalisation, Feldman had appeared at The Chicago Theatre this weekend with Jerry O’Connell and Wil Wheaton for a 40th anniversary celebration event of Stand By Me.
According to TMZ, which broke the news of Feldman’s hospitalisation, the actor and musician began to feel “very sick” on the flight, which led to a doctor, who happened to be on board, checking him out.
They also report that doctors believe it’s related to pancreatitis or gallstones.
Feldman is yet to comment directly on the hospitalisation.
Earlier this year, Feldman spoke out after the Oscars tribute to the late Stand By Me director Rob Reiner didn’t feature him, telling EW, “Personally, it felt a little bit like a family reunion I wasn’t invited to, but we’re not going to use this time to get into my feelings about that.”
He added, “Instead, I just want to say that I’m with the rest of us, we’re all very destroyed that things went down the way they did, losing Rob when we all thought he’d be joining us at some point for this tour.”
The Chicago Theatre date of the Stand By Me tour, which took place on June 14th, was the final date on the tour. However, Feldman did recently hint on Instagram that more shows would be added in the near future “due to incredible turnouts”.
