Coachella announces new 20th anniversary documentary

Coachella Festival has announced that a special documentary will be released around the event’s 20th anniversary celebration this year.

The film, entitled Coachella: 20 Years in the Desert, falls as part of the YouTube Originals series and will premiere on the streaming platform on March 31st.

In a bid to relive and document two decades of the now-iconic Californian festival, Coachella: 20 Years in the Desert will include “exclusive, never-before-seen footage and interviews” and a rare insight into the early years of the festival’s creation.

The production team around the new documentary remain tightlipped on the specific details but confirmed that it will feature footage of the festival’s major performances over the years which will include the likes of Billie Eilish, Kanye West, LCD Soundsystem, Radiohead, Björk and many more.

The news of the documentary arrives as Coachella announced its line-up for the 2020 event with Rage Against the Machine, Travis Scott and Frank Ocean all chosen as headline acts.
