Cloud Nothings are capable of creating some truly spellbinding work. Their ability to weave emotive subject matter through a sonic stratosphere worthy of study is what makes them one of the artists’ artist, if you get our meaning.
So when they went to The A.V. Club to take on the channel’s ‘Undercover List’ whereby a band covers a huge hit, you’d be forgiven for thinking they would introduce a certain amount of authenticity to the megahit. That they would craft and culture an ounce of genuine sentiment from the ‘balladry 101’ that Coldplay spew form their anuses.
What they did, was, well, something entirely different.
We don’t want to spoil the fun, but it might just be the best thing they have ever done.
