Christopher Nolan celebrates Zack Snyder’s huge influence on cinema

As Zack Snyder makes his new move on Netflix with the space opera Rebel Moon: Part One – A Child of Fire, his fellow filmmaker Christopher Nolan has offered his support, noting Snyder’s huge influence on modern cinema.

In fact, The Dark Knight and Interstellar director has said that Snyder’s influence can be felt in any “superhero science-fiction film coming out these days.” Nolan had served as a producer on Snyder’s 2013 Man of Steel, and the two have been friends ever since.

“There’s no superhero science-fiction film coming out these days where I don’t see some influence of Zack,” Nolan recently said.

He added, “When you watch a Zack Snyder film, you see and feel his love for the potential of cinema. The potential of it to be fantastical, to be heightened in its reality, but to move you and to excite you.”

Earlier this month, Nolan had offered his opinion on Snyder’s 2009 superhero movie Watchmen, claiming that it was ahead of its time.

“I’ve always believed Watchmen was ahead of its time,” Nolan The Hollywood Reporter. “The idea of a superhero team, which it so brilliantly subverts, wasn’t yet a thing in movies.”

“It would have been fascinating to see it released post-Avengers,” the director signed off.
