Christine and the Queens cover The Bee Gees’ ‘Stayin’ Alive’
Christine and the Queens has shared his cover of The Bee Gees’ disco staple, ‘Stayin’ Alive’.
Previously, the French pop star played the classic 1977 hit, which featured on the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, during a performance at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. Now, the studio version has arrived with a music video directed by the singer-songwriter.
“Art heals! Brings us all together again and again! Art is the experience of humanity, the joyful boat of the imagination, the fireside where we reinvent together – childhood,” Chris explained in a press release.
The message continued: “My masters use art as a magical refuge and I, in turn, take them along, masked, free of themselves into the sovereign realm of their own dreams.”
He added: “Made in a few days, in an emergency with fabulous friends, generous strangers, the inhabitants of Venice the beautiful, this is our fond farewell to 2023. Our PUNK gesture for a better future.”
In other Christine and the Queens news, in October, the artist cancelled the rest of their remaining tour dates after being taken ill, and being advised to take this course of action by a doctor.
At the time, Christine and the Queens took to Instagram to explain: “Red (aka Christine and the Queens) was taken ill today and on advice of doctors forced to make the difficult decision to cancel all remaining tour dates for 2023. The tour was scheduled to resume tonight in Montreal and end in Paris in late November. Refunds are available at point of purchase.”
