Children of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs share statement supporting father amid criminal charges
Six of Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs’ children have shared a new statement in support of their father, who is currently behind bars after being arrested in New York last month.
Combs has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since September 16th following his arrest. He was later charged with sex trafficking and racketeering. Despite repeated attempts from his legal team to secure bail, including agreeing to strict conditions, their request has now been denied on two occasions.
The reasoning for Combs being denied bail is due to the authorities believing he is a flight risk which could potentially jeopardise a future trial, which has been set for May, 2025. Combs plans to plead not guilty to the three charges that face him and denies all accusations of wrongoing.
In addition to the criminal charges facing Combs, he is also at the centre of multiple lawsuits accusing him of sexual misconduct which he also denies.
Now, for the first time since the music mogul’s arrest, six of his children, Quincy Brown, Justin Combs, Christian Combs, Chance Combs, D’Lila Combs, and Jessie Combs, have broken their silence on the allegations surrounding their father.
“The past month has devastated our family. Many have judged both him and us based on accusations, conspiracy theories, and false narratives that have spiraled into absurdity on social media,” they began by writing.
The message continues: “We stand united, supporting you every step of the way. We hold onto the truth, knowing it will prevail, and nothing will break the strength of our family. WE MISS YOU & LOVE YOU DAD.”
The Combs children previously shared a message last month to deny comments made in an alleged memoir by their late mother, Kim Porter. Kim’s Lost Words: A Journey for Justice from the Other Side has since been taken down from Amazon after the validity of the book was questioned, and ghostwriter, Chris Todd, was unable to prove that it contained authentic diary entries by Porter. However, they didn’t comment on the arrest of their father.
Christian, Jessie, D’Lila, and Quincy, took to Instagram to condemn the book, writing: “We have seen so many hurtful and false rumors circulating about our parents, Kim Porter and Sean Combs’ relationship. As well as about our mom’s tragic passing.”
The four children continued: “Our lives were shattered when we lost our mother. She was our world, and nothing has been the same since she passed. While it has been incredibly difficult to reconcile how she could be taken from us too soon, the cause of her death has long been established. There was no foul play. Grief is a lifelong process, and we ask that everyone respect our request for peace.”
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs defended by his mother
While the Combs children have now publicly declared support to their father, the rapper’s mother, Janice Combs, shared a message earlier this month claiming her son is innocent.
In a statement released to Local 10 News on October 6th, Janice claimed the barrage of allegations made against her son stem from a “narrative created out of lies.”
Janice continued: “I come to you today as another that is devastated and profoundly saddened by the allegations made against my son, Sean Combs. It is heartbreaking to see my son judged not for the truth, but for a narrative created out of lies. To bear witness to what seems like a public lynching of my son before he has had the opportunity to prove his innocence is a pain too unbearable to put into words.”
