Child taken into care after Ian Watkins grooms young mother from prison cell
Ian Watkins, the sick former Lostprophets frontman who is currently serving 35 years in prison for a string of child sex offences, has continued to groom a young woman from his cell.
The 40-year-old Welsh singe, who was found guilty of the shocking offences which included planning to rape a baby, has been grooming a 21-year-old mother with a string of letters from his Wakefield prison cell. The mother, who has said to have been a huge fan of Lostprophets since she was 16-years-old, has been in contact with Watkins and has even visited him in jail.
The letters, which reportedly include jokes about about her two-year-old watching her have sex, alerted social services who have since removed the child from the woman’s care.
‘We’re sickened,” said a spokesman from the NSPCC. “It’s utterly bewildering that he could carry on grooming. It shows contempt for children he abused, and raises serious questions about supervision.”
“She got a letter back and he said he loved her,” a friend of the mother said. He then allegedly asked if her daughter “came into the room during sex”.
Wakefield police are aware of the situation and added “we will always take action to safeguard vulnerable adults and children.”
