Charlie Sheen allegedly assaulted by neighbour at home in Malibu
Los Angeles authorities has reported an incident where a woman allegedly assaulted American actor Charlie Sheen at his residence in Malibu.
Electra Schrock, aged 47, was taken into custody for charges related to assault with a deadly weapon and residential burglary. The weapon has not been identified.
Emergency medical services were called to Sheen’s residence, although reports indicate that he did not require hospitalisation.
According to TMZ, Schrock allegedly attempted to strangle Sheen and tore his shirt after he opened the front door. In a statement shared with the BBC, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department also confirmed that the assault on the actor happened during daylight hours.
Schrock will appear in court in Los Angeles on Friday.
The 58-year-old Sheen boasts an impressive repertoire in Hollywood, showcasing his talent in blockbuster films like Platoon, Wall Street, and Major League.
His prominent role spanned eight seasons on the CBS hit sitcom Two and a Half Men, a tenure that ended abruptly due to a highly publicised rift with the show’s creator. He transitioned into the spotlight of tabloid headlines through a series of controversial interviews but later expressed remorse for his conduct, attributing his behaviour to struggles with drug and alcohol abuse.
In a recent interview with People magazine, Sheen shared, “next month, I’ll be six years sober.”
Adding: “I have a very consistent lifestyle now. It’s all about single dad stuff, and raising my 14-year-old twin boys.”
