Charli XCX to star in her own A24 movie ‘The Moment’
Charli XCX has confirmed she’ll be teaming up with A24 to star in and produce the new movie, The Moment. The film is based on one of Charli XCX’s original ideas that she took to the studio.
The pop star recently started her own production company, Studio365, and The Moment will be the first film that he produces under it. Other than the fact that the film is an original idea by Charli XCX, all plot details are being kept under wraps.
Aidan Zamiri and Bertie Brandes wrote the screenplay, which will mark Aidan Zamiri’s directorial debut. Additionally, AG Cook, a longtime collaborator of Charli XCX who helped put Brat together and give the album its iconic sound, will compose the score for the film.
Studio365 won’t be the only production company involved in the movie. David Hinojosa will also be working on The Moment using his production studio, 2AM. Mikey Schwartz-Wright, Zach Nutman, and Brandon Creed will all serve as executive producers, and A24 will handle the global release of the film.
Charli XCX recently had the chance to show off her acting skills on Saturday Night Live, where she played both host and musical guest. She has also appeared in a plethora of Hollywood films, such as Faces of Death, 100 Nights of Hero, and Erupcja.
“I hate it when musicians dive into a different field, head-first, without really researching or learning much of anything about it,” said Charli XCX in an interview with Variety when discussing her new acting and producing ventures, “So I did a lot of reading to educate myself over the past three or four years before I actually did anything.”
There is no release date for The Moment yet. More details about the film’s plot and rollout schedule will be revealed closer to the release date.
