Charli XCX reveals new album ‘Music, Fashion, Film’ with star-studded cover
Charli XCX has announced her brand new album, Music, Fashion, Film, with a particularly star-studded cover to go with it.
The pop star made the announcement on June 1st, sharing a head-turning photo to her social media bearing the album’s cover, featuring a left-to-right ensemble of John Cale, Marc Jacobs, and Martin Scorsese in representing each of the mediums.
Alongside this, she wrote a simple caption that said, “My new album Music, Fashion, Film is out July 24th. 11 songs, 30 minutes, 5 seconds. available to pre order now, love you xx.”
It comes as the first major musical move from the star following the storming viral success of her album Brat back in 2024, spawning a viral phenomenon which the singer has hugely capitalised upon ever since.
However, following the release of her satirical film The Moment in January, on top of recording the soundtrack to Wuthering Heights with the single ‘House’ featuring Cale, Charli indicated to fans that a new era was on the horizon with the release of the singles ‘Rock Music’ and ‘SS26’.
Despite this, the singer also explained on Instagram last week that she is releasing a selection of “B-side” singles that will not appear on the actual album or any streaming services, such as ‘I Keep on Thinking about You Every Single Day and Night’, which she released via the social media platform as the pairing to ‘Rock Music’.
She explained this by saying, “Basically, I made a record, and while making a record, I made a few songs that felt like a part of the world of the album, but I kind of knew they weren’t ever going to be on the album.”
The ‘Apple’ singer added: “The B-sides are never going to go on streaming, I don’t think, that could change, but right now I don’t really think… I really just wanted them to live here, on this account, and then also I will press each B-side to a seven-inch vinyl.”
In doing so, she also sent a message to those who have been critical of her music and album rollout method, as she noted: “I’m not trying to repel people away or convince people to like me. I’m doing what I feel is truthful to me. I think existing as a human being in 2026 is really hard for a multitude of different reasons. My solace is art, but sometimes that doesn’t even really feel safe in this day and age.”
Music, Fashion, Film is set to be released on July 24th, 2026.
