Charli XCX announces David Cronenberg collaboration and confirms ‘Music, Fashion, Film’ tracklist
Charli XCX has unveiled the tracklist for her forthcoming Music, Fashion, Film album, which includes a collaboration with filmmaker David Cronenberg.
The British singer-songwriter lifted the lid via her social media, in which she held up a t-shirt with the official tracklist printed on the back.
The album opens with two singles that have already been released, kicking off with the short, abrasive ‘Rock Music’, and flowing into ‘SS26’.
Following that, Music, Fashion, Film then consists of tracks titled ‘Card Declined’, ‘Camera’, ‘2007’, ‘I’m Afraid’, and ‘Yeah’.
As the eighth track on the record, Charli XCX introduces another single, the cheeky ‘Wink Wink’, which was the latest to be released.
Seeming to then conjure up the world of “film” in the Music, Fashion, Film title, she then adds a song called ‘Persona’, followed by ‘Magic Metal Montana’.
As the eleventh, and closing, track, the Essex native has revealed that her only collaboration on the album is with David Cronenberg, the iconic director behind cult movies like The Fly and Crash.
The album was surprise-announced on June 1st, when Charli XCX unveiled the cover photo featuring a black-and-white picture of John Cale, Marc Jacobs, and Martin Scorsese to represent each aspect of the title.
Ahead of the record hitting the shelves on July 24th, Charli is giving her audience the chance to hear the new record in advance, with listening parties taking place in independent cinemas across 25 different cities between July 9th and July 11th.
Following these smaller listening parties, Charli will be performing at a range of European festivals before heading out on a North American tour in support of the Brat follow-up.
