Casey Wasserman to sell talent agency following Jefferey Epstein controversy
Casey Wasserman has confirmed that he has started the process of selling his talent agency after it was uncovered that he had ties with Jefferey Epstein.
The announcement comes as artists began to leave the agency after it was uncovered that the Wasserman CEO had extensive ties with Jeffrey Epstein and had sent flirtatious emails to Ghislaine Maxwell.
Despite denying that he had any personal or business ties with either, Wasserman sent an apology to the 4,000 employees who work at his sports marketing and talent agency, confirming that he would be stepping down from the company.
He said: “I’m deeply sorry that my past personal mistakes have caused you so much discomfort […] It’s not fair to you, and it’s not fair to the clients and partners we represent so vigorously and care so deeply about.”
Wasserman’s talent agency represents some of the biggest names in music and sport, including Kendrick Lamar, Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, Paige Bueckers and Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
Following major reputational damage resulting from his ties with Epstein, artists within his talent agency announced that they would leave the company if the CEO refused to step down.
Chappel Roan led the talent agency boycott as she said: “I hold my teams to the highest standards and have a duty to protect them as well.
“No artist, agency or employee should ever be expected to defend or overlook actions that conflict so deeply with our own moral values.”
Wasserman has confirmed he will be turning his attention towards the planning of the 2028 Olympic Games.
