Bruno Mars breaks Ticketmaster record for most tickets sold in a day
Bruno Mars has broken a Ticketmaster record for the number of tickets sold in one day in North America, the United Kingdom and Europe.
Last week, Mars announced his comeback by revealing that his new album, The Romantic, would arrive on February 27th. He also shared his new single, ‘I Just Might’.
Additionally, he announced his first global headline tour in nearly a decade, which doubles as the first global stadium run of his career.
The extensive tour will kick off in Las Vegas at the Allegiant Stadium on April 10th, followed by Mars spending the next two months on the road in North America before heading to Europe and the United Kingdom in June and July.
He will then return to North America to conclude the run in August, which is set to conclude on October 17th in Vancouver.
Due to demand, Mars added an extra 31 dates, which takes his total number of stadium shows to 71 across North America, Europe and the United Kingdom. He will play a total of six dates at Wembley Stadium in London.
Per Live Nation, upon tickets going on sale on January 14th, a new record was set with Mars selling 2.1 million tickets in a single day.
Mars will be joined across all of the tour dates by his Silk Sonic collaborator Anderson .Paak, who will perform as DJ Pee .Wee. Additional support comes from Victoria Monét, Raye, and Leon Thomas across select dates.
He could also have more reason to celebrate in the near future. On February 1st, Mars is set to compete in three categories, including ‘Record of the Year’ and ‘Song of the Year’, at the Grammys for his chart-topping collaboration with Rosé, ‘Apt’.
