Bruce Springsteen shares ‘Faithless’ from soundtrack of movie that never got made

Bruce Springsteen has shared his previously unheard song, ‘Faithless’, which was recorded in 2006 for a movie soundtrack that never got made.

It is set to appear on Tracks II: The Lost Albums, which will be released on June 27th, 2025, and features seven complete records made by ‘The Boss’ between 1983 and 2018. For various reasons, these records have never previously been released before he uncovered them during the pandemic and decided upon making a new compilation.

‘Faithless’ is the title track for the soundtrack to a film that is described as a “spiritual Western.” The lost record consists of 11 songs, four of which are instrumentals.

Springsteen largely recorded the album as a solo endeavour with the help of producer Ron Aniello, touring members of The E Street Band — Soozie Tyrell, Lisa Lowell, Curtis King, Jr, Michelle Moore and Ada Dyer. His wife Patti Scialfa, and sons Evan Springsteen and Sam Springsteen, also contributed.

“This was a really unusual collection of songs,” Springsteen reflects on the album in a new statement. He recorded the entire soundtrack before a single frame of the movie was shot over a two week period in Florida, recalling, “You could recognize details and maybe a character or two. But for the most part, I just wrote atmospheric music that I thought would fit.”

Meanwhile, Springsteen previously explained of Tracks II: The Lost Albums: “The Lost Albums were full records, some of them even to the point of being mixed and not released. I’ve played this music to myself and often close friends for years now. I’m glad you’ll get a chance to finally hear them. I hope you enjoy them.”

Springsteen has a busy year ahead, including a huge summer tour that will see him visit the United Kingdom to perform three shows at the Co-op Live in Manchester and two concerts at Anfield Stadium in Liverpool. He will also play dates across Europe in France, Germany, the Czech Republic, Italy, and Spain.
