Britney Spears says she is “lucky to even be alive” amid family feud

Britney Spears has posted an emotional Instagram post admitting that she is “lucky to even be alive” amid family tensions, which previously saw the performer accuse her father, family, and management of mistreatment and coercion.

On February 4th, the singer took to Instagram to post a picture of a newborn holding onto the finger of an outstretched hand. As an explanation for the image, she began, “As people, all we really want is to feel connected to each other and never feel alone.”

Her caption continued, “For those of you in your family that have said to help you is to isolate you and make you feel unbelievably left out … they were wrong. We can forgive as people, but you don’t ever forget.”

Spears added, “Yearning and longing for contact is always crucial !!! I’m incredibly lucky to even be alive with how my family treated me once in my life and now I’m scared of them. It’s weird how God works in mysterious ways.”

Spears was under a conservatorship overseen by her father and a lawyer from 2008, officially terminated by a Los Angeles judge in 2021.

After asking her “friends” what they might believe God is thinking today, she went on, “To be totally honest with you, no matter what he says, they will never take responsibility for what they did.”

In an effort to ignore the trauma, Spears revealed that she had made cheesecake with her neighbour. She also explained the absence of dance posts on her account, as she “broke my two twice!”

This comes almost a month after the iconic performer made another cryptic comment, this time about her live performances. “I will never perform in the U.S. again because of extremely sensitive reasons,” she wrote online, without revealing what exactly those reasons were.

Spears has not performed live since playing a set at the F1 in Austin, Texas, in 2018. A 2019 residency in Las Vegas was cancelled due to her father’s health issues.
