Bright Eyes share 'Forced Convalescence' the latest cut from the new album

We were thrilled to see Bright Eyes return earlier this year but we were also a little apprehensive about what any new album may sound like from the indie legends. Now the second song has arrived in ‘Forced Convalescence’, we can rest assured we won’t be disappointed.

The new song ‘Forced Convalsecene’ is our Track of the Day and sees Conor Oberst and co. nearing the peak of their powers once more. You can listen to the new song below.

Bright Eyes released ‘Persona Non Grata’ in March as a bright spot in an otherwise dark month and have now turned the wick up once more with their second cut from their eagerly anticipated new album.

The shining sounds of ‘Forced Convalescence’ sees a facade broken only by Oberst’s world-weary lyrics. Picking out threads that will soon weave into the tapestry of the future Oberst contemplates life as we know it all form the comfort of his own bed.

The year 2020 is full of significant anniversaries for Bright Eyes. Fevers and Mirrors was released 20 years ago this May, while Digital Ash in a Digital Urn and I’m Wide Awake It’s Morning both turned 15 in January.

There could be a tendency to wallow in past success but for Bright Eyes, ending their nine-year hiatus meant returning to recording. Judging by what we’ve heard so far, the new album is destined to be a class.
