Brian May is considering a new 'Bohemian Rhapsody' sequel

Brian May has announced that he is currently considering new ideas regarding a Bohemian Rhapsody sequel.

The smash-hit original earned a walloping box office gross and also earned Rami Malek an Academy Award for Best Actor, so in the current climate of cinema, it follows suit that a sequel would be in the works.

Speaking on Instagram Live, the badger loving cosmologist announced: “We are looking at it. Yeah, we have been looking at ideas.”

Adding: “It’s going to be hard to follow that one as none of us could have predicted how massive that was going to be.”

Later stating a rather age-showing comparison: “We put a lot of heart and soul into making it and no one could have predicted [its success] as it was bigger than Gone With The Wind. But yes, we are thinking maybe it could happen, but it would have to be a great script. It’s going to take a while to figure that out.”

Previously May has been hesitant about the possibility of a follow-up, so the matter is a far from a foregone conclusion, but given the right script, it is clear from his comments that it certainly wouldn’t be a definite no.
